- Google Desktop 5.1 or higher
With GroovyDesk for GDS you can search through all of your Groove Workspaces using the Google Desktop Search software.
The GroovyDesk for GDS software installs itself in the icon tray. It constantly monitors your Groove workspaces for new Files or File updates by any of the Groove workspace members. Each new update is handled automatically, and the content can be searched through Google Desktop Search almost instantly. No manual intervention or actions required!
A Groove File that appears in the Google Search results can be opened by just clicking at it in the search results.
The GroovyDesk software supports all major file formats, using standard iFilter technology already available at your PC. If needed the file formats supported can easily be extended by installing additional iFilters, available from many third-party suppliers. Please contact us if you want help with this. GroovyDesk for GDS currently supports File objects only. In future releases, it will support other Groove objects like Contacts and To-do items too.
